Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a specialized, short-term (average 14-16 sessions), evidence-based treatment program designed to help strengthen the quality of the parent-child relationship and improve child behavior. It focuses on enhancing positive behaviors in children through play and positive parent-child interactions. PCIT is typically offered for children who are having difficulty regulating their emotions, knowing how to express themselves calmly, and displaying disruptive behaviors. It involves real-time coaching sessions where parents receive guidance and feedback from a certified PCIT therapist.

Participating in PCIT virtually helps families learn and use PCIT skills seamlessly because sessions happen right at home. This means you can practice what you learn in everyday situations. Additionally, it's convenient, making it easier to attend sessions regularly. Plus, our PCIT therapists can give you personalized feedback based on what's happening in your real-life setting, helping you quickly fit these skills into your daily routines.

The virtual PCIT model offers many benefits that make it great for today's busy families. By getting rid of the need to travel, parents can avoid the hassle of traffic and strict appointment schedules, as well as make it easier for families to return their children to school after sessions. With virtual PCIT, you get:

  • Convenience: Sessions can be scheduled to fit into your busy life and save the time you'd spend traveling.
  • Flexibility: It's simpler to reschedule virtual sessions than in-person ones, and you can easily do make-up sessions online if needed.
  • Comfort: Your child can have therapy in the comfort of your home, which is familiar and less disruptive than traveling to an office.
  • Accessibility: Without the need to drive, online therapy is available to families who live far from therapists, making it easier to get the help you need.
